USCIS Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Information:
On June 15, 2012, the Secretary of Homeland Security announced that certain people who came to the United States as children and meet several key guidelines may request consideration of deferred action for a period of two years, subject to renewal, and would then be eligible for work authorization.
Individuals who can demonstrate through verifiable documentation that they meet these guidelines will be considered for deferred action. Wednesday, August 15th was the first day that the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIC) agency began accepting applications under the new legislation.
The new legislation is an ongoing process at this time and there is currently no filing deadline. The requirements and potential legal issues associated with completing these new deferred action applications are extensive—the applications should not be completed without legal consultation.
